a performance in the “Poem for Freedom: Before Amnesty Becomes Anonymous”, an event co-organized by the People’s Amnesty Network, the Common Sense Poets Network, the Soft Power Group, and Arai Arai Cafe

Nameless is a performance about the political climate in Thailand, specifically the impact of Article 112.

The performance starts with me holding a large white blanket, filled with individual pieces of white paper tied in delicate bows. Each bow carrying the name of someone accused of lese majeste.

My movements begin slow and searching. Gradually, the movement intensifies. As I move, the bow-tied papers flutter out of the bag, raining down around my body, forming a symbolic white shroud.

The performance reaches a climax as I stand completely encircled by the fallen papers, representing the suffocating nature of Article 112. In a final act, I break free from the silence by spitting out the last paper from my mouth. This symbolizes of many people who have been silenced by Article 112.
